Is it too early to start thinking about Sitka Herring? Yeah, it probably is. Anyways, here a great shot of the “SuperBowl Of Seining” in all of its chaotic glory. Sitka herring consists of nets, skiffs, tender boats, planes, and confusion all wrapped up into one intense fishery. After last year’s early spawn out, it will be interesting to see how things develop this coming spring.
