Ah, yes! Its finally time to take the boat to Ventura for the fall squid run in the Channel Islands region. So far, my decision to pass on my southeast seining job has been a disaster. Although, its been a fun summer in California, its been my least lucrative season since 2015. Basically, chasing the squid thru the summer is a waste of time. So, we are on our way to the meat of the squid season. However, its an El Nino year, which is typically bad for squid. We are still going to give it a hell of a try.
