The Sand Man is a living historical landmark of Olympia, Washington’s maritime industry. The boat can be found in the same harbor that it delivered barges full of oysters to nearly 90 years ago. The Oyster House Restaurant, which suffered a horrible fire this past summer, serves as its home base and is a institution of Olympia’s waterfront. The restaurant will be rebuilt and the Sand Man will be there too. Lucky for us, some things never change. This boat was featured in Port Townsend’s 2013 Wooden Boat Festival.

I'm loving life in Alaska! Check out my viewpoint from Alaska, as I go commercial fishing and skiing thru the land of the midnight sun. This is Alaska commercial fishing shown the way it should be, from fishermen. When, I'm not working on the high seas, I enjoy time with my family in Juneau, AK enjoying life, love and salmon in southeast Alaska
