Thousands of Farmed Salmon Escape Off The Coast Of Maine

What would be the story is these were frankenfish?  Yet again farmed salmon makes the headlines with foul news.

Tens of thousands of juvenile farmed Atlantic salmon have escaped from an acquaculture pen operation near Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, located at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy.

That’s according to the Atlantic Salmon Federation, which says 138,000 fish escaped, likely when high winds and ocean swells in late December ripped open newly-installed net cages.
