Bristol Bay! The name says it all. This years salmon season is just around the corner. Prices should be at an all time high and the fishery has been strong the past few years. With Pebble Mine constantly in the news, its interesting to see what other issues face our fishermen. Just look at how it all started.
The board voted down Proposal 15, which would have eliminated the 32-foot limit on vessels in the bay’s drift gillnet fishery, and declined to take action or voted down several proposals that would have allowed multiple permit use, or permit stacking, and longer nets.
