This summer is shaping up to be very interesting. I have only heard rumors of salmon prices in the Southeast, but it sounds great. Back in 2003, we were getting paid 6 cents a pound. Its hard to imagine that we could be looking at a pink salmon price of nearly 32 cents.
Halibut, salmon and sole are already in short supply because of other calamities. Iceland’s volcanic eruption and Chile’s earthquake and an outbreak of diseased salmon are affecting prices.
