It’s been years since I’ve had the chance to seine at Hidden Falls. It was also a real treat to have the whole place to ourselves for cost recovery. I couldn’t help reminiscing about the big years at South Point and the shootouts in Takatz. Hidden Falls was a massive part of the Southeast Seiners season for many years. This actually highlights the unreliability of the hatchery system in Alaska. It obviously can go from hot to not in a quick fashion. I believe this was the first common property opener in Hidden Falls since 2017. Nonetheless, I had a great time scooping up and down the bay. And yes, I got a hot soak in too!
