Huge amounts of these wonderful little sailors pounded the beaches in California in the spring of 2015. These creatures are indicative of an El Nino Pattern in the Pacific Ocean. The summer did suffer from a massive gut of squid. That trend continued in the 2016 squid and salmon seasons. This year was actually the beginning of “The BLOB,” Which has plagued fisheries all the way into 2019.
