The Dream Maid is a true classic in southeast Alaska. It was “grandfathered” in after statehood, even though the was longer than 58 feet, which means it belongs to a very unique club! What other seiners are “grandfathered” in?

I know she is a true 58′. And yes she is a beauty.
Worked on that boat for quite a few years. Also Joe Lewis and I fished crab out of Sitka back around 1975/1976.

The number of grandfathered boats is dwindling, but I can think of a few. Taylor Maid, Vernon, Home Shore, Johnnie A (or B, can’t remember.)
