Non-MSC Alaska salmon gains traction in Europe. At the recent NFI Global Seafood Marketing Conference, Alaska salmon producers said that talks with European customers for canned salmon were going very well, and that they would be carrying Alaska canned salmon without the MSC certification this season. This bodes well for acceptance of frozen salmon as well, as it does not make sense for a store to accept sustainable Alaska canned salmon without the MSC label, but refuse to accept frozen salmon.
