A Parade of Pink Salmon In Southeast Alaska

The summer is in full swing in Southeast Alaska.  The pink salmon have been hitting huge on the north end near Icy Strait.  Luckily, we made it out of our Ketchikan zone and headed north.  It was great to see Tenakee Springs, Petersburg, and Baranof Warm Springs.  Last year, staying in K town and not seeing those areas really made me regret our lack of movement.  Sadly, we are currently heading back to Area 2, which is down by Ketchikan.  We will only know if it was a good decision at the end of the season.  One lesson in seining, “Never run from fish!”  We just might be breaking that rule.  Hopefully, the salmon are plentiful throughout Southeast Alaska. Here are a couple of pics from the season so far.  Enjoy.
